X-Men: Days of Future Past is a 2014 British-American superhero film, based on the fictional X-Men characters appearing in Marvel Comics. The film was directed by Bryan Singer and acts as a sequel to both 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand and 2011's X-Men: First Class. It is overall the seventh installment of the X-Men film series. The story, inspired by the 1981 Uncanny X-Men storyline "Days of Future Past" by Chris Claremont and John Byrne, focuses on two time periods and Wolverine being sent to 1973 to save the future of mutantkind. The film stars an ensemble cast, including Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Nicholas Hoult, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart. The story was conceived by Simon Kinberg, Matthew Vaughn, and Jane Goldman, with Kinberg writing the screenplay.

Days of Future Past entered production in April 2013 in Montreal, Canada, with principal photography concluding in August 2013 and additional filming in February 2014. The film premiered in New York City on May 10, 2014 and was officially released on May 23, 2014. It received positive reviews and became the highest-grossing film in the X-Men film series worldwide. A sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse, is scheduled for release on May 27, 2016 with Singer returning to direct.

It serves as a sequel to the 2012 film The Amazing Spider-Man and was announced in 2011. The studio hired James Vanderbilt to write the screenplay and Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci to rewrite it. Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Campbell Scott, Embeth Davidtz, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti and Sally Field star.

Development of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 began after the success of The Amazing Spider-Man. DeHaan, Giamatti, Jones, and Cooper were cast between December 2012 and February 2013. Filming took place in New York from February to June 2013. The film was released in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on May 2, 2014 in the United States. The film received mixed reviews, but grossed over $690 million worldwide. A sequel is set to be released in 2016, with Webb returning to direct.

Principal photography commenced in April 2013 in Los Angeles, California before moving to Washington, D.C. and Cleveland, Ohio.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier premiered in Los Angeles on March 13, 2014. It was released internationally on March 26, 2014 and in North America on April 4, 2014, in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D. The film became a critical and financial success, having grossed over $709 million worldwide. A sequel set to be directed by the Russo brothers is scheduled for release on May 6, 2016.

Dhoom: 3 ([ˈd̪ʱuːm 3], English: Blast 3, also abbreviated and known as D:3 and D3) is a 2013 Indian action thriller film, written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra. The third instalment of the Dhoom series, it features Aamir Khan as the antagonist paired opposite Katrina Kaif. Actors Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra reprise their roles as Jai Dixit and Ali Akbar, respectively, as seen is previous franchise. Made on a budget of INR1.25 billion (US$21 million), the most expensive Bollywood film of all time, Dhoom 3 was released on 20 December 2013, marking itself as the first Bollywood movie to be released in the IMAX motion picture film format with Dolby Atmos surround sound.

The film broke several records on its opening days in India and abroad. Box Office India declared Dhoom 3 "the biggest hit of 2013" after two days of release, with the film grossing INR4 billion (US$68 million) worldwide in just ten days, making it the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time domestically and worldwide. The international gross of Dhoom 3 was US$ 28 million—eventually breaking the record of 3 Idiots (another Aamir Khan starrer) and making it the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time in international markets. Chennai Express Listeni/tʃɨˈnaɪ/ /ɪkˈsprɛs/ is a 2013 Indian action comedy film directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Gauri Khan for Red Chillies Entertainment. The film features Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles; it is the second collaboration between Khan and Padukone after the 2007 blockbuster Om Shanti Om. It is about a man's journey from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and what happens along the way after he falls in love with the daughter of a local don. Principal photography began on 27 September 2012, filming began in October 2012 and was completed by May 2013.

The film was released in the overseas markets on 8 August 2013 and a day later in India on 9 August. Extensive paid previews were held in India on 8 August as well. Although the film received mixed reviews from critics upon release, it broke several records in India and abroad and became the fastest film to collect INR1 billion (US$17 million). The film's soundtrack, composed by the Vishal-Shekhar duo, received positive reviews from critics.

The film surpassed Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and became the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2013 until its record was surpassed by Dhoom 3. It is also the fourth highest-grossing Bollywood film in overseas markets. According to Box Office India, Chennai Express currently ranks as the second highest-grossing Bollywood film worldwide.

Krrish 3 ([ˈkrɪʃ 3]) is a 2013 Bollywood superhero science fiction film produced and directed by Rakesh Roshan. It is the third film in the Krrish series following Koi... Mil Gaya (2003) and Krrish (2006). The film stars Hrithik Roshan, Vivek Oberoi, Priyanka Chopra, and Kangna Ranaut in the lead roles. The story follows the life of Rohit Mehra, a scientist, and Krishna Mehra a.k.a. Krrish, his superhero son, who face an elaborate conspiracy orchestrated by the evil genius Kaal and his female henchman Kaya. In the process, Krishna's pregnant wife Priya is kidnapped by Kaal and the form-changing Kaya takes her place at the Mehra home and eventually falls in love with Krishna.

Krrish 3 was reportedly produced on a budget of INR1.15 billion (US$19 million) and was initially scheduled to release in a 3D format as a 3D film. However, due to lack of time to convert the film to 3D, director Rakesh Roshan mentioned that the film will be released only in the 2D format. Krrish 3 released worldwide on 1 November 2013. It has since received mixed reviews from film critics with praise directed towards Roshan and Ranaut's performances, the visual effects, and the cinematography; criticism has been directed to the music provided by composer and the director's brother Rajesh Roshan, the story and screenplay. The film was declared a blockbuster in India by Box Office India.

Ek Tha Tiger (English: Once There was a Tiger) is a 2012 Indian action spy thriller film, directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films. It stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, and features Ranvir Shorey, Girish Karnad, Roshan Seth and Gavie Chahal in supporting roles.[4] The film was the third collaboration of Kabir Khan with Yash Raj Films after Kabul Express (2006) and New York (2009). The plot centers around an Indian spy (RAW) code-named Tiger who falls in love with a Pakistani spy (ISI) during an investigation and how Tiger's ideology and principles change over time.

Pre-production of Ek Tha Tiger started in the second half of 2010 after the script had been completed. Principal photography commenced on September 2011 and ended in June 2012. The film was shot in five countries. Initially scheduled for a release on June 2012, the film's release was delayed and it opened on 15 August 2012, coinciding with India's Independence Day was holiday which celebrates on 65th anniversary to the marked.

Critics gave Ek Tha Tiger positive to mixed reviews. The film opened to extremely strong box office collections and Box Office India declared it a "Blockbuster".[citation needed] It was the most successful of Yash Raj Films' releases and was the second Bollywood film to gross over INR3 billion (US$51 million) worldwide with a gross of INR3.25 billion (US$55 million), and became the fourth highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time, exceeded by Dhoom 3, 3 Idiots and Chennai Express.

Upon release, the film broke all opening box office records in India. It was the highest-grossing film in its opening weekend in India and had the highest opening day collections for a Bollywood film. It also held the record for highest net collections in the first week for a Bollywood film. It also became one of the few Indian films to become a major success in East Asian markets such as China, eventually bringing its overseas total to more than US$ 25 million—the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time in overseas markets, before being overtaken by Dhoom 3. It was expected to be the first Indian film to be officially released on YouTube, within 12 weeks of releasing in theatres on 25 March 2010, but finally got officially released on YouTube in May 2012. The film also went on to win many awards, winning six Filmfare Awards including best film and best director, ten Star Screen Awards and sixteen IIFA awards.

The film also uses real inventions by little-known people in India's backyards. The brains behind the innovations were Remya Jose, a student from Kerala, who created the exercise-bicycle/washing-machine; Mohammad Idris, a barber from Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh, who invented a bicycle-powered horse clipper; and Jahangir Painter, a painter from Maharashtra, who made the scooter-powered flour mill. This film was remade in Tamil as Nanban (2012) which also received critical praise and commercial success. It has also been announced that there will be a Chinese remake of the film produced by Stephen Chow and that there are plans for a Hollywood remake produced in the United States.

Bodyguard is a 2011 Indian action film directed by Siddique. It is the third remake of the director's own 2010 Malayalam film of the same name, the second being the 2011 Tamil film Kaavalan starring Vijay and Asin. The film's first look and theatrical trailer was unveiled on 21 July 2011. Bodyguard was released on tiwar 31 August 2011 across 2,250 screens in 70 Indian cities and with 482 prints across the overseas territory. Bodyguard was released in 3250 theatres worldwide.

 Jab Tak Hai Jaan (English: As Long as I Live) is a 2012 Indian romantic drama film directed by Yash Chopra and written and produced by Aditya Chopra under their production banner, Yash Raj Films. It features Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in lead roles; this is the first collaboration between Khan and Kaif, and the second between Khan and Sharma (they previously featured in the 2008 film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi). Yash Chopra returned to directing eight years after Veer-Zaara and it was his final film before his death on 21 October 2012. The background score and soundtrack was composed by A.R. Rahman, while the lyrics were written by Gulzar.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan tells the story of Akira Rai (Sharma), a curious Discovery Channel intern, who finds the diary of a bomb-disposal expert, Samar Anand (Khan), which recounts his days as a struggling immigrant in London, and his romance with Meera Thapar (Kaif). The film was released during the six-day Diwali weekend beginning on 13 November 2012. It received positive-to-mixed reviews from critics in India and positive reviews abroad. It opened well at the box office, and Box Office India declared the film a "hit" in India and a "blockbuster" overseas. Jab Tak Hai Jaan emerged as the fifth-highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time overseas, after Dhoom 3 (2013), 3 Idiots (2009), My Name Is Khan (2010) and Chennai Express (2013).

The film was praised for its direction, cinematography and the chemistry between the lead actors; Khan and Sharma were appreciated for their performances, although the predictable plot was criticised. Hercules is an upcoming American action-adventure film directed by Brett Ratner and starring Dwayne Johnson (in multiple roles), Ian McShane, Reece Ritchie, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Joseph Fiennes, and John Hurt. It is based on the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars. Distributed jointly by Paramount Pictures and MGM, it is set to be released on July 25, 2014.

It is one of two Hollywood-studio Hercules movies scheduled for 2014, the other being Summit Entertainment's The Legend of Hercules.

The Lego Movie is a 2014 computer animated adventure comedy film directed and co-written by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, and featuring the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, Alison Brie, Charlie Day, Liam Neeson, and Morgan Freeman. Based mainly on the Lego line of construction toys, the film tells the story of an ordinary Lego minifigure named Emmet prophesied to save the Lego universe from the tyrannical Lord Business who plans to use the Kragle to glue everything in place.

It was released theatrically on February 7, 2014. The movie was a critical and commercial success, with many critics highlighting its visual style, humor, voice acting and heartwarming message. It earned more than $255 million in North America and $206 million internationally for a worldwide total of over $461 million, becoming the most commercially successful animated film produced and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures to date. A sequel is scheduled to be released on May 26, 2017.

Rio 2 is a 2014 American 3D computer-animated musical adventure-comedy film produced by Blue Sky Studios and directed by Carlos Saldanha. It is the sequel to the 2011 computer-animated film Rio and the studio's first film to have a sequel outside of their existing Ice Age franchise. The title refers to the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, where the first film was set and Rio 2 begins, though most of its plot occurs in the Amazon rainforest.

Featuring the returning voices of Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, will.i.am, Jamie Foxx, George Lopez, Tracy Morgan, Jemaine Clement, Leslie Mann, Rodrigo Santoro, and Jake T. Austin, the film was released internationally on March 20, 2014, and on April 11, 2014, in American theaters. Rio 2 was Don Rhymer's final film after he died on November 28, 2012. The film received mixed reviews. The film earned over $457 million as of June 1, 2014.
